Mérieux NutriSciences have announced the finalized acquisition of 100% ownership in ACM Agro, a privately held France-based company specialized in microbiological analytical services for agro-food industry players. With this acquisition, Mérieux NutriSciences consolidates its position as a global leader in food safety and strengthens its presence in France.
Founded in 1990 as a subsidiary of Teranga group, a holding company dedicated to health, cosmetic and agro-food industries, ACM Agro employs close to 70 people and is specialized in microbiology.
With accredited laboratories in Quiers-sur-Bezonde (Loiret) and Sablé-sur-Sarthe (Sarthe), ACM Agro intervenes mostly with clients across the Centre-Val de Loire, Ile-de-France and Pays de la Loire regions. Mérieux NutriSciences will continue developing these two sites, and will extend the offer for ACM Agro customers, notably the physico-chemistry range.
Philippe Sans, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mérieux NutriSciences, said: “We are delighted to welcome on board the talented team of ACM Agro.” He added, “The acquisition of ACM Agro will complete our geographical presence in France mostly towards our industrial customers.”
“Our ambitions for ACM Agro have naturally led us to get closer to and join Mérieux NutriSciences which shares the values that have made ACM Agro’s success. It is now a reality that will ensure the sustainability of the high-quality services delivered by Quiers’ and Sablé’s teams to ACM Agro’s customers,” said Mr. and Mrs. Petat, founders of ACM Agro.
With this acquisition, Mérieux NutriSciences now operates 9 laboratories in France strengthening its position of major network of private analytical laboratories in the country.
